A Mystery Solved
One of the things that often mystifies and annoys me is that everything (and everybody) is flawed. Thus, you are looking for a new computer, but when you check them out, each one has only some but not all of the features you desire. Why can’t one computer have them all? Similarly, when someone is elected to office with an overwhelming mandate of good wishes and high expectations, in very short order their limitations become apparent. And on and on and on.
Amoralism solves this puzzle handily. It is all* a function of desire, and the diversity thereof. There is no “objectively” univocal good or bad computer or political leader etc. ad inf.: There are only* the ways in which a product or person satisfies or frustrates the multiplicity of one’s own or everyone’s multiple and sometimes even incompatible desires.
* Well, not "all" or "only": It is also a function of material and sometimes even logical limitations. Thus, there may be few if any computers that are both lightning fast and have ample storage space to suit your needs, while still fitting your budget, or few if any politicians who can get things done and yet be scrupulously honest at all times ... and not even an omnipotent God could create an object too heavy for Him to lift.
